My friend Sara recently came to visit. One risk of entertaining a writer, especially a writer who produces several blog posts and columns each week, is that you will wind up in print.

Well, the inevitable happened, and Sara’s column about the meals she ate on her Virgin Islands vacation appeared on the Daily Gazette (Schenectady, New York) website this week.

Loyal readers who recall my blog post on the cookbook St. Croix Food and Wine Experience, may realise that the “lemony marinade” that so impressed Sara came courtesy Chef Patrick O. James and cookbook author Jane Watkins.

And to give further credit where it is due, Sara’s favorite restaurant meal was served at the Roti Palace on Main Street in Road Town; our Jost Van Dyke cocktails came from One Love; and the fresh mahi-mahi sandwiches were served at Callwood’s Bar and Restaurant in Cane Garden Bay.
